Marie Antoinette breathes through a snorkeling tube in water globe. I titled this piece “Rise” as I was thinking about the endurance of powerful women. Marie was strong and flawed, lived authentically and died for it. I give her new life and wonder what she could have been, minus the constraints of war and monarchy.
